– Toshiba Computer Systems, a division of Toshiba Europe GmbH, today unveiled the latest additions to its Satellite Pro business product range. The ultra-portable 13.3’’ (33.8 cm) Satellite Pro U500 is targeted at highly mobile design-conscious business users, who don’t want to compromise on performance and functionality when they are out and about. For users primarily seeking a comfortable and powerful desktop replacement device, Toshiba adds the 17.3’’ (43.9 cm) Satellite Pro L550 with a HD+ LED Backlight display to its product range. Finally Toshiba adds two 15.6’’ (39.6 cm) models to its portfolio for those who want to use their laptop equally in the office and on the move: the all-round Satellite Pro L500 and the Satellite L450 with a slightly streamlined feature set yet which offers an excellent price/performance ratio. All the new additions easily manage today‘s demanding business applications. All models will be available during fourth quarter 2009 throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa.

All four new Satellite Pro business devices will ship with Windows® 7 and the recently launched Toshiba LifeSpace application suite featuring the Toshiba Bulletin Board and Toshiba ReelTime to enhance users' productivity. Toshiba LifeSpace makes the searching and organisation of files and projects on Toshiba laptops easy. Toshiba's PC Health Monitor monitors the laptops' critical components and notifies users of problems before they might put them out of action. It tracks factors such as battery performance and CPU temperature. A 3D impact sensor on the ultra-mobile Satellite Pro U500 instantly detects shocks or falls and protects data stored on the hard drive from damage.
Productivity and efficiency also depend on usability. The Satellite Pro U500, Satellite L500 and Satellite L550 are equipped with a Touch Pad with Multi-Touch Control, to facilitate scrolling and other often-used operational functions. A full-size keyboard makes typing easy and in addition the Satellite L500 and Satellite L550 offer a numeric keypad. An EasyControl Bar offering eight illuminated feather-touch (Satellite Pro U500) or four (Satellite Pro L500/550) mechanical control buttons respectively, offers direct access to often used multimedia and usability functions. All four new models have Toshiba ConfigFree™ - a utility that simplifies network configuration and online access, reducing the number of helpdesk requests. The Satellite Pro devices are equipped with an embedded Web Camera with integrated microphone to make video conferencing or video chats easy.
The Satellite U500 has a fashionable design in Luxe Brown with textured finish and Matrix pattern. It proves that first class eye-catching design no longer has to be a matter of budget. The Satellite Pro L500 and Satellite Pro L550 come with a durable new case featuring the Toshiba Fusion Finish with Breeze pattern and a Steel Grey LCD cover. The very affordable Satellite L450 offers a long-lasting glossy finish in Aluminium Silver.
As a responsible global corporate citizen, Toshiba ensures that all laptops are RoHS-compliant, effectively reducing the environmental impact by restricting the use of lead, mercury and certain other hazardous substances.
